Stories get lost
when nobody writes them down.
Familión started with a conversation with a grandmother. An hour of coffee, two borrowed cassettes, twelve names jotted in the margin of a notebook. When we got home we realized something obvious: that moment wouldn't repeat — not that hour, not that coffee, not that memory. And if nobody wrote it down, in one generation none of it would remain.
The family trees we tried were for noting dates. Nothing to write down that aunt Lucía cooked rabbit with chocolate on Sundays, or that grandfather crossed the Atlantic at eighteen with a suitcase. That is family — the trades, the places, the anecdotes, the strange turns — and that's why we built Familión: so that fabric can be written by everyone together, without falling on a single person.
How we work
We're a small team based in the United Kingdom. We build slowly, we listen to the families that use the product, and we ship changes when they're ready — not when the calendar says so. We charge for storage (not for people) because we want you to invite the whole family without thinking twice, and pay only if you decide to keep many photos.
What we promise
- Your tree is yours and private by default. Only the people the admins invite see it.
- No ads, no data resale. The business model is the subscription paid by the people using it. That's it.
- Functional even if we cease to exist. If we ever shut down, we'll give you advance notice and all your data so you can keep storing it wherever you choose.
