Clear rules, no fine print.
By using Familión you accept these terms. They're written to be understood on first reading; if anything is unclear, write to us and we'll clarify it before you go further.
1. Who we are
Familión is a product of Think Code Release Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom. When we say "we," we mean this company.
2. Your account
To use Familión you need an account and an email address you control. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for any activity carried out from your account. You can close it at any time from Settings.
3. Your content
The data in the tree — people, dates, places, photographs, notes — belongs to you and the relatives who contribute it.
So that we can show you your tree on any device and to the members you invite, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, transmit and process that content on our servers. That licence ends when you delete the content or the account.
4. Other people's data
By adding information about relatives — living or deceased — you confirm that you have a legitimate basis to do so (consent, family interest, remembrance of the deceased). If a registered relative asks us to see or delete the data you contributed about them, we'll honour that request in line with the privacy policy.
5. Plans and payments
The Familia and Patrimonio plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually. You can change plan or cancel at any time from Settings — downgrades to a cheaper plan or a shorter interval take effect at the end of the billed period; upgrades take effect immediately with proportional proration.
No automatic refunds: when you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that it moves to the Free plan.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Familión to:
- Upload illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent identities.
- Attempt to access trees you haven't been invited to.
- Flood the service with automated requests.
If we detect such use, we may suspend the account. We'll always give you advance notice when it's reasonable to do so.
7. Service availability
We do everything we can to keep Familión online, but the service is provided as is. Outages, maintenance or errors may occur.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the incident. We are not responsible for loss of use, revenue, or indirect opportunities.
9. Changes to the service or these terms
We may modify Familión and these terms. If a change materially affects your rights or the price, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the courts of England, without prejudice to the consumer rights that the law grants you in your usual place of residence.
